My name is Piotr Kierzkowski, I was born in 1975 in Wrocław, Poland. I’m a PhD in biology, and at present I work in the Zoological Institute of the University of Wrocław. This, however, is only a part of my life - I’m an aquarist, a diver, and an independent filmmaker.

I learned how to dive in 2005. This was a turning point in my life. I was interested in fish and aquariums since I was a kid, and diving gave me the possibility to watch the aquatic life in the wild. All of a sudden I realized how little is known about real life of all those small fish we keep everyday in our tanks...

And this is how my adventure has begun. I combine my scientific experience, educational skills and filmmaking passion to provide aquarists with unique informational material - videos showing true underwater habitats of fish, natural behavior of fish, and best aquascapes arranged in aquariums.

I visit various zoological fairs, looking for interesting aquariums. I film these aquariums, and make video-reports about these fairs. I think the main problem with other internet aquarium televisions is that there are too many “talking heads” - interviews, interviews, interviews, all the time. Aquarium hobbyists want to see aquariums, not company bosses.

Exactly the same situation is with videos about aquatic expeditions to tropical countries. Most of the time we see exotic markets in the villages, villagers themselves, parrots on the trees, trucks passing the river on the raft, and other similar, real underwater habitats of aquarium fish ;)

I’m about to change this. Welcome to my aquarium television Definite Aquascape TV - inspiration and information for aquarists.
